Q. What’s the best gift I can give myself in this chapter of my life?
Conscious action. Not action simply for action’s sake — not busyness, not distraction — but intentional, curious action on some of the long-standing open items on my to-do list.
I’ve read, and keep reading; I’ve worked with my therapist, and I keep working; I’ve talked, and keep talking. I’m finding that waiting until I think I really know how to do something before actually doing it is just a fancy form of procrastination. I’ve found real joy lately in working through situations that would have paralyzed me in the past. To give myself the effort now, to reap the benefits in the future, would be extraordinary.
